Joy comes from being and doing things that we feel connected to and for each of us that is something different. So we have to recognize that because something brings us joy doesn’t mean that it brings somebody else joy. It’s important for all of us to recognize that we should pay attention to loved ones enough to care about what brings them joy.

It’s also important for us as a society to work together to develop more understanding of this concept, to work together to create joy, to be more respectful of one another. For some, joy is a beautiful sunrise whereas for others it’s sleeping in so the latter would sacrifice the sunrise for the sleep. Both beings would in fact receive joy from experiencing those different things.

Joy is not a commodity that can be purchased. Joy comes from within. In order to experience joy, we first must understand ourselves and know what our likes and dislikes are and we must know what brings us that feeling of feeling alive. If you are lacking in joy then my recommendation is for you to first look at yourself and understand what your likes and dislikes are and then move to understanding how you can take those likes and embrace them and bring them into your life. Then look at how you can take the dislikes and remove them from your life. It’s really not that difficult to experience joy when you know what you want.

In order to full heartedly experience joy we just have to stand present in the moment in each circumstance. Be aware that what’s occurring is something that you like and then stand in the presence of the enjoyment, embracing the moment and the sensation that it brings. Joy is something that, when you stand in the moment and appreciate it, can last for a lot longer than the moment. We can also retrieve that information of the sensation of the joy and recall it any time we want so when we’re having a hard day, we can just think about when we felt good and we can bring that back into our awareness and feed off of it.

Joy can be created when you are struggling or worrying. But recognize that that’s a conscious choice to struggle and worry. Instead, change your conscious choice to reflect joy and non-worry. When you embrace yourself in the likes that you have and the dislikes that you hold, cultivating joy will be far easier than you think. Most people think that it’s unattainable. Joy is something that is only for the wealthy or the lucky when in fact joy is attainable for all of us. Joy is something that holds no bias. The only block to joy is ourselves.
